දිනේෂ් ප්‍රියන්ත හේරත් යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාව වෙනුවෙන් 2020 ටෝකියෝ පැරාලිම්පික් හි තරඟවදින අත්දැකීම් බහුලම ක්‍රීඩකයායි. ඔහු මෙවර ශ්‍රී ලාංකා පැරාලිම්පික් කණ්ඩායමෙහි නායකත්වය දරණ අතර 2016 රියෝ පැරාලිම්පික් තරඟාවලියේ දීද මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන් ලෝකඩ පදක්කම් දිනා දීමටද සමත්ව ඇත.
F46 කාණ්ඩයේ හෙල්ල විසි කීරීමේ ඉසව්වට සහභාගී වන මොහු, පැරාලිම්පික් සමාරම්භක උත්සවයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකේය ධජය රැගෙන යාමට ද නියමිතය.
2008 වර්ෂයේ කිලිනොච්චිය අක්කරායනකුලම් ප්‍රදේශයේ මානුෂීය මෙහෙයුම් ක්‍රියාන්විතය අතරතුරදී තම වම් අතට එල්ලවූ වෙඩි ප්‍රහාර ත්‍රිත්වයක් හේතුවෙන් ඔහු ආබාධිත තත්වයට පත් වූ අතර වසර හතරකට ආසන්න කාලයක් ප්‍රතිකාර ලබාගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව 2012 වර්ශයේ දී ක්‍රීඩාවට අවතීර්ණ වී ඇත.

Dinesh Priyantha Herath is the most experienced athlete to compete in the Tokyo Paralympics for Sri Lanka. He is currently captaining the Sri Lankan Paralympic team and has also won bronze medals for the motherland at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
Dinesh Priyantha Herath will take part in the F-46 Javelin Throw at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and is also the Sri Lanka’s flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
He was disabled during the humanitarian operation in the Akkarayanakulam, Kilinochchi, in 2008 due to a gunshot wound to his left hand & entered the sport in 2012 after receiving treatment for nearly four years.
