මෙවර ජපානයේ ටෝකියෝ නුවර පැවැත්වෙන 2020 පැරාලිම්පික් තරඟාවලියේ දී ශ්‍රී ලංකාව වෙනුවෙන් සම්පත් හෙට්ටිආරච්චි ක්‍රීඩකයා හෙල්ල විසිකිරීමේ ඉසව්ව සඳහා තරඟවැදීමට නියමිතව ඇත.

එෆ් 64- කාණ්ඩය යටතේ හෙල්ල විසි කීරීමේ ඉසව්වට සහභාගී වන මොහු, 2016 රියෝ පැරාලිම්පික් තරඟාවලියේ දී ද තම මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන් ක්‍රීඩාකල අතර, 2018 ආසියානු පැරා මලල ක්‍රීඩා තරඟාවලියේ දී තම ඉසව්⁣ව තුලින් රිදී පදක්කම් දිනා දීමටද සමත්ව ඇත.

2008.12.04 වන දින කිලාලි මුහමාලේ ප්‍රදේශයේ මානුෂීය මෙහෙයුම් ක්‍රියාන්විතයේ අවසන් සටනේ යෙදී සිටියදී පුද්ගල නාෂක බෝම්බයකට අසුවීම හේතුවෙන් ආබාධිත තත්වයට පත් වූ සම්පත් හෙට්ටිආරච්චි වසර දෙකකට ආසන්න කාලයක් ප්‍රතිකාර ලබා 2010 වසරේ දී ක්‍රීඩාවට අවතීර්ණ වී ඇත.

මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන් මෙවරත් ජයග්‍රහණයක් රැගෙන ඒමට, මුලු මහත් ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් අප ඔබට සුබ පැතුම් එක්කරන්නෙමු.

Sampath Hettiarachchi is scheduled to compete in the javelin throw event, for Sri Lanka, at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan this year.

Silver medallist at the 2018 Asian Para Games, Hettiarachchi is determined to make his presence felt in his second appearance at the 2020 Paralympics with his 1st appearance in the Rio 2016 Paralympics.

Sampath Hettiarachchi, who was paralyzed by an anti-personnel mine during the final Humanitarian Operation in Kilaly, Muhamalai, on 04.12.2008, has been receiving treatment for nearly two years and entered the sport in 2010.
