The Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of former FFSL General Secretary and Vice President, Retired DIG Mr. Upali Hewage, who passed away this morning.
Mr. Hewage was one of the finest administrators in the history of Sri Lankan football. His lifelong commitment and tireless efforts to use football as a unifying force to connect communities across the country will be remembered with great respect and admiration.
His legacy and contributions to the development of the sport will remain an inspiration to the entire football fraternity for years to come.
The FFSL President, Executive Committee, and the entire football family extend their heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Hewage and the bereaved family.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
